Join us for this fun preschool program where we will help you build early literacy skills with your child by reading, talking, singing and playing together. Wear your pajamas and bring your stuffed animal. Adults must stay for the program. Suitable for ages 18 months – 7 –
STUFFY SLEEPOVER!! – Bring a stuffed toy and leave him/her for a sleepover at the library on Nov 29. When you come to pick up your fluffy friend, we’ll show you the photos of what kind of fun they had without you for the night!

LEGO Club – First Saturday of the month: 11:00-noon
Let your imagination run wild with the library’s LEGO collection and build something awesome! Not only is Lego fun, it also develops skills beneficial to your child’s development: spatial reasoning, literacy and communication, problem-solving, organization, planning, creativity and fine motor development.

‘Tween Craft Night – Make sure to stop in or call to register for this fun evening of crafting, conversation and snacks! Suitable for Ages 7 – 12. Space is limited!

November is Financial Literacy Month – Stop in and check out the many titles we have to strengthen your financial knowledge, debt management and wealth strategies

Adult Book Club Meeting – last Tuesday of the month @ 2:00. Copies of the club’s current read are available at the circulation desk.

Knit Happens – Knitters and needleworkers group – Weekly informal group meet at the library on Thursday afternoons at 2 pm. Learn, teach, encourage, and socialize. Call the branch for more information.

Mayor Buckle drop in – Stop by and chat with the Bob Buckle, Mayor of South Bruce on Friday mornings.

NaNoMo (National Novel Writing Month) – Come Write In – Bruce County Public Library recognizes all accomplished and budding authors in our communities. To support all local writers, we have registered as an official “Come Write In” space. Take advantage of our work tables, printing and photocopying services, free WiFi and connect with other writers at the library. We are also sending a story starter around all our branches to which people can add their ideas to see where the story takes us!
Pre-Hanging of the Green Holiday Open House – The library will be open prior to the parade, so make sure you stop in for a warm drink, treats and a visit! Circulation services will be available, so remember to bring your library card!!

To get ready for the holidays, we are hosting ‘Tween Craft night EVERY Thursday evening all month!! Make some Christmas gifts for your family, or just come and make something awesome for yourself. REGISTRATION WILL BE REQUIRED.

Lots of fun drop-in activities during Christmas break and a reading challenge for the 12 (open library) days before Christmas!

All programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Donations to your library are gratefully accepted. Children under 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult while in the library. Children under the age of 5 attending programs may be supervised by the library staff only during the scheduled time of the program; their caregivers must always remain in the library building. Responsibility for the welfare and the behaviour of children using the library ultimately rests with the parent/guardian or an assigned caregiver. Thank you for your understanding.
