A fortification and defense-based game Fortnite suddenly gave birth to its much more appreciated spinoff named Fortnite: Battle Royale. It became a real obsession for gamers all over the world; it surpassed the original so much that mentioning just Fortnite now implies Battle Royale. The mobile version is also BR.
The idea of Battle Royale is a deathmatch in an isolated territory with various biomes and landscapes. All the players have an equal start when deployed over its territory, with only a pickaxe to collect materials. Weapons can be found, and materials for building collected right where you are. So get yourself armed and equipped and go out hunting. There should only one be left!
It’s no option to hide away until the others shoot each other. The storm is coming, and the safe zone is inevitably shrinking, being safe no more for those entering it. So the final showdown will take place in the eye of the storm, so dramatic and spectacular. It will combine shooting and building, for some to protect themselves, and for some to get a better observation point.
The game is easy to control, as it utilizes standard mechanics, with motion joystick in the left lower corner, camera control area in the right part of the screen, and some buttons under the fingers of the right hand. Fortnite is compatible with MFi-certified gamepads that may enhance your experience on iPhone or iPad (especially if you play on a 4.7” or a smaller iPhone). But these additional controllers aren’t necessary: the game is highly playable.
The developers always implement some innovations during Seasons, where changing the routine environment is a must. New weapons and vehicles, new routes through the island and new appearance – it’s all analyzed, and if the players appreciate it, these features may get regular.
Though the genre is being overexploited now, Fortnite Battle Royale doesn’t seem to be at any risk. Whenever you enter the game, it won’t take long to form the party to be deployed to the island. Being cross-platform, it provides the same games for those playing on mobile devices, on PC, or on consoles.
It may seem a flaw that it only supports online multiplayer mode. But, first of all, don’t forget that it’s just a successful spinoff of the original Fortnite. And then expect for Creative update to roll out, with your own island to build and develop.
